December 2016
On December 8th, Dr. Michele Fleming, a clinical psychologist and relationship expert, spoke on the topic of "Forming Healthy Relationships in College." The event was attended by more than 20 students and alumni who engaged with Dr. Fleming in a long and informative Q&A session after the talk.
April 2016
On April 23rd, the Stanford Anscombe Society successfully hosted its third annual conference, entitled "The Family United: Marriage as a Force for Social Good." We were joined by ~80 students, faculty, and community members, who enjoyed talks by a number of esteemed scholars including Dr. Jacqueline Rivers, Dr. Alan Hawkins, and Dr. Bradford Wilcox.
February 2016
On February 25th, Kara Eschbach, co-founder and editor-in-chief of Verily, came to Stanford for a talk and discussion entitled "From Wall Street to Entrepreneurship to Learning How to Be: Living with Purpose and Finding Balance." Kara spoke about her personal experience striving to integrate her values with her career, and students asked questions on everything from fashion to dating culture.
November 2015
On November 19th, Jennifer Lahl, RN, joined us for a screening of her documentary "Eggsploitation" followed by a discussion. Approximately 15 people attended our second fall quarter event.
September 2015
On September 24th, R.R. Reno, editor-in-chief of First Things, joined the Stanford Anscombe Society for an engaging talk on the meaning of marriage. Approximately 40 people attended this inaugural event of our 2015-2016 year. Click here to listen to the audio podcast.
